The Ooze – Sega Genesis Game

The Ooze is an action game for the Sega Genesis in which you control a scientist who has been reduced to a living puddle of green slime. Viewed from an overhead angle, you slide your body across floors and through gaps, stretching out a limb of ooze to strike enemies or spitting slime at them from a distance. Your health and your body are the same thing: taking damage shrinks the puddle you control, and you must absorb more ooze from the environment to restore your size. Levels are laid out as industrial and underground areas containing hazards, machinery and enemies to work around. Movement is deliberate and fluid rather than fast, so the game leans on positioning and careful navigation of tight spaces.
