The Red Star – PS2 Game

The Red Star adapts Christian Gossett’s comic series into an action game that blends melee brawling with overhead shooting. You take control of characters from the book and fight through waves of soldiers and machinery, switching between close-range weapon attacks and ranged energy fire depending on what the situation calls for. Larger enemies and bosses fill the screen with projectiles, and dodging patterns is as important as landing hits. Combos build score multipliers, and stages are broken into arena-style encounters that push you forward through the setting’s fusion of military hardware and sorcery. The presentation leans on the comic’s visual style, with heavy industrial design and a story delivered between missions. Play is single-screen and stage-based, with a second player able to join for cooperative fighting.
