Top Gun – NES Game

Top Gun for the Nintendo Entertainment System is a jet combat game based on the film. You fly missions from a cockpit view, using a targeting reticle to line up cannon fire and missiles against enemy aircraft while watching fuel and weapon supplies. Between engagements you can refuel in mid-air from a tanker, an exercise that requires careful alignment with the fuel boom. Missions end with a landing on an aircraft carrier, where you must line up with the deck and control speed and altitude to touch down successfully. The presentation is built around instrument readouts along the bottom of the screen and radar showing the position of nearby targets.
