Van Helsing – PS2 Game

Van Helsing is a third-person action game based on the film, casting you as the monster hunter of the title. You fight your way through gothic environments including villages, castles, crypts and laboratories, taking on werewolves, vampire brides and other creatures drawn from classic horror. Combat combines melee strikes with ranged weapons such as crossbows and firearms, and you can upgrade your arsenal as you progress. Levels are largely linear, mixing waves of enemies with platforming sections, and end in boss encounters against larger monsters. Cutscenes and voice work carry the story between missions, using footage and characters from the movie. The emphasis is on straightforward action, with combo attacks, dodges and ammunition management as the main tools at your disposal.
