Wipeout – Sega Saturn Game

The Sega Saturn version of Wipeout brings the anti-gravity racer to Sega’s 32-bit console. You control a hovering craft from one of several competing race teams, threading through futuristic circuits with steep drops, tunnels and banked turns while using air brakes to keep control at high speed. Weapon pads scatter missiles, mines and other offensive pickups across the track alongside turbo boosts, and taking hits drains your shield energy. Ships vary in top speed, handling and toughness depending on the team you choose. Single races, championship series and time trials make up the modes, with faster speed classes opening up as you succeed. The stark graphic-design styling and electronic soundtrack carry over from the series’ presentation.
