World Series Baseball 2K1 is a Major League Baseball simulation for the Dreamcast, using real teams and players under the MLB and MLBPA licenses. Pitching and batting are handled with cursor-based aiming, so you place pitches around the strike zone and position your swing rather than simply timing a button press. Fielding, base running and defensive positioning are all under your control, and you can adjust lineups, rotations and substitutions between innings. Beyond exhibition games, the game offers season play with statistics tracking and standings, along with additional modes for practice and quick matches. Presentation includes stadium detail, crowd atmosphere and broadcast-style camera angles and commentary. Sliders and difficulty settings let you tune how forgiving the pitching and hitting feel, making it approachable for casual games or more demanding for full-season play.
