Worldwide Soccer 98 – Sega Saturn Game

Worldwide Soccer 98 continues Sega’s football series on the Saturn with polygonal players and 3D stadium presentation. You pick from international teams and play friendlies, tournaments and knockout ties, with penalty shootouts to settle drawn matches. Controls cover passing, through balls, crossing, shooting and sliding tackles, and you can set formations and tactics before kick-off as well as make substitutions during a match. Camera options and adjustable half length let you tune how the game reads on screen, and goals are followed by replays. Weather and pitch conditions feature in the presentation alongside crowd audio. The handling favours an accessible, fast-moving style of football rather than a heavy simulation approach, making matches quick to pick up for two players sharing a Saturn.
