Ys the Vanished Omens – Sega Master System Game

Ys: The Vanished Omens brings the first Ys adventure to the Master System. You play as Adol Christin, a young swordsman who arrives in the land of Esteria and sets out to recover the lost Books of Ys while unraveling the mystery behind the region’s troubles. Combat uses the series’ early “bump” system: instead of pressing an attack button, you damage enemies by running into them, with the angle of contact determining how the exchange goes. Between fights you explore towns, speak with residents for clues, buy better swords, shields and armor, and descend into dungeons filled with enemies and locked paths. Boss encounters cap off major areas. The game is presented from an overhead perspective with a melodic soundtrack.
