Zelda Wind Waker – Gamecube Game

An action-adventure with cel-shaded visuals, set on a great sea dotted with islands. Link sets out after his sister is taken, sailing between islands aboard a talking boat and using the wind to steer. The Wind Waker itself is a conductor’s baton: you set a rhythm and play songs that change the wind direction, alter the time of day and warp you across the ocean. Combat uses lock-on targeting with counterattacks and parries prompted on screen, and items include the boomerang, grappling hook, bow and Deku leaf. Between dungeons you explore islands, salvage treasure from the seabed, photograph characters and trade with island residents. Sailing and chart reading form a large part of the game, with each square of the map hiding something to find.
