Back to the Future II and III – NES Game

An action game for the NES based on the second and third Back to the Future films. Play moves through side-scrolling stages built around scenes from the movies, with Marty navigating hazards, avoiding enemies and collecting items scattered through each area. Levels draw on the films’ settings, including the altered version of Hill Valley and the Old West sequences from the third film, and some sections switch to different play styles rather than straight platforming. Controls are simple, with movement, jumping and use of items, and progress depends largely on learning enemy placement and screen layouts through repetition. Presentation uses small sprites and scenery meant to evoke locations and characters from the two films it adapts.
