Bionic Commando Elite Forces – Gameboy Color Game

A Game Boy Color entry in Capcom’s Bionic Commando series. You play a soldier fitted with a bionic grappling arm, using it to latch onto overhead surfaces and swing or pull yourself upward instead of relying on a conventional jump. Stages are side-scrolling and built vertically as well as horizontally, so progress depends on judging the arm’s reach and angle while enemy soldiers, turrets and machinery fire on you. Between the platforming sections you fight bosses and work through enemy installations, with mission briefings framing the objectives. The colour palette of the Game Boy Color gives the sprites and backgrounds more definition than the earlier monochrome handheld release, but the design still centres on the same grapple-based movement.
