Black Bass – NES Game

Black Bass is a fishing game for the NES focused on freshwater bass angling. You choose a spot on the water, select tackle from the available lures, cast, and work the lure back with the controller to trigger a strike. Once a fish takes the bait the game shifts to reeling it in, balancing line tension against the fish’s runs so the line does not break. Catches are weighed and recorded, and larger fish come from reading the water and matching the right lure to conditions rather than casting at random. The presentation combines an overhead or side view of the lake with a closer view of the underwater action during a fight, and progress comes from landing heavier fish over the course of a session.
