Blades of Steel [Classic Series] – NES Game

This is the Classic Series reissue of Konami’s NES ice hockey game Blades of Steel, containing the same game as the original release. Play is arcade-paced and viewed from a scrolling overhead angle: you pass between skaters, line up shots, and switch to checking and blocking on defence. Heavy checks can start one-on-one fistfights, with the loser leaving the ice, and penalty shots switch to a close-up duel with the goalie where you pick your aim and timing. You can face the computer or a second player, choose from city-named teams and set the difficulty. Digitized crowd noise and announcer samples, along with the shooting mini-game shown between periods, round out the presentation.
