Cosmic Carnage – Sega 32X Game

Cosmic Carnage is a one-on-one fighting game for the Sega 32X. You choose from a roster of alien and mutant combatants and fight in best-of-round matches using punches, kicks and special moves. Its distinguishing feature is armour: before a fight you can equip pieces of armour to your character, and those pieces take damage and break away during the bout, changing how much punishment you can absorb as the match goes on. Fighters are large, heavily detailed sprites, and hits are accompanied by exaggerated impacts and blood effects in keeping with the game’s harsh science-fiction setting. There are single-player matches against the computer and two-player versus play, with the 32X handling the sprite scaling and colour.
