Gauntlet II – NES Game

Gauntlet II adapts the arcade sequel for the NES, keeping the overhead maze crawling of the original while adding variations to the formula. You pick a hero class with its own mix of melee strength, shot power and magic, then fight through dungeon floors where monster generators keep producing enemies until you break them. Health drains continuously, so food pickups matter as much as keys, treasure and potions. The sequel adds new hazards and level features, including walls that can be shot away, along with items that alter your hero’s abilities. Two players can share the screen, splitting the food and treasure between them as they clear rooms together. Levels come in a long sequence of increasingly crowded mazes, and play revolves around constant movement, thinning out spawn points and finding the exit before your health runs down.
