Gex Enter the Gecko – Gameboy Color Game

This Game Boy Color version of Gex: Enter the Gecko adapts the console platformer into a handheld side-scrolling format. You play as Gex, a gecko who travels through worlds themed around television genres, jumping between platforms, avoiding hazards and dealing with enemies as you work toward the exit of each stage. The tail whip returns as your main attack, and climbing surfaces is part of navigating the level layouts. Collectibles are spread through the stages, rewarding exploration of side routes and hard-to-reach ledges rather than a straight run to the finish. The presentation uses the Game Boy Color palette for the show-inspired backdrops, and Gex’s television-referencing humour is carried over in text form. A compact platformer for players who want the series on a portable screen.
