Golgo 13 Top Secret Episode – NES Game

Based on the Golgo 13 manga, this NES game casts you as professional assassin Duke Togo on an international assignment. Play shifts between styles as the story moves along: side-scrolling stages where you walk, jump and shoot your way past enemy agents, first-person maze sections where you navigate corridors from Duke’s point of view, and sniping sequences where you line up a scoped shot on a distant target. Between stages, still images and text panels carry the plot forward across a series of locations. Ammunition and health are limited, so you manage your supplies as you advance. The mix of action and cinematic presentation makes it an unusual entry in the NES library, aimed at players interested in a spy thriller rather than a straightforward platformer.
