Guerrilla War – NES Game

Guerrilla War is an overhead run-and-gun action game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, converted from SNK’s arcade original. You control a rebel fighter advancing on foot through jungles, villages and fortified positions, shooting enemy soldiers and gun emplacements while dodging incoming fire. Your rifle can be supplemented with grenades and better weapons picked up along the way, and vehicles and turrets can sometimes be commandeered to clear tougher stretches. Hostages appear in the levels and can be freed, though careless shooting will kill them and cost you points. Two players can play at the same time, working through the same screen together, which changes the pace considerably. Progress is level by level, with boss encounters and heavier defences guarding the end of each stage.
