Heiankyo Alien – Gameboy Game

A Game Boy version of the classic maze chase in which you play a lone figure defending the streets of the old Japanese capital from invading aliens. The playfield is a single grid of paths seen from above. You have no gun: instead you dig holes in the ground, lure the aliens into them, and then fill the holes in to bury them. Timing is everything, since a half-finished hole traps nothing and a standing pit can catch you as easily as your enemies. Aliens speed up and grow more aggressive as stages progress, and clearing them all advances you to the next round. The handheld release keeps the simple rules and single-screen structure of the original while adding modes and presentation suited to the Game Boy.
