NBA Jam for the Super Nintendo is a home version of the arcade basketball game, played with small teams on a single side-on court. You choose from licensed NBA clubs and their players, each rated for shooting, dunking, speed and defense, then play fast quarters with no fouls and no free throws. Digitized sprites fly high above the rim for exaggerated slam dunks, and connecting on consecutive shots sets a player on fire, sharpening accuracy until the run is broken. Turbo powers sprints, shoves and bigger jams while the meter lasts. Play-by-play voice samples react to dunks and long-range shots. Multiple players can share the game on one screen, teaming up together or facing off, and hidden characters and code-driven options can be entered at the matchup screen.
