RoboCop – NES Game

RoboCop on the NES adapts the film into a side-scrolling action game. You control RoboCop as he walks through the streets, warehouses and industrial areas of Detroit, moving at a deliberate pace that reflects the character’s armoured bulk. Punches handle enemies at close range, while the Auto-9 pistol covers threats further away, and ammunition for stronger weapons is limited. A health gauge and an on-screen timer both count down, so you need to keep pressing forward rather than clearing every screen. Street thugs, gunmen and other hostiles attack from ground level and from windows and rooftops. Stages are broken up by encounters with larger opponents drawn from the film, and short text screens between levels set up each mission objective. Play is single-player throughout.
