Smash TV – NES Game

Smash TV is the NES version of the arcade twin-stick shooter set on a violent television game show. You fight through a series of enclosed arenas, one screen at a time, as waves of enemies pour in from doorways on all four sides. Between the fighting you collect cash, prizes and power-ups, including spread shots, missiles and shields, then pick a door to move on to the next room. Bosses appear at the end of each section. On the NES, the game supports using two controllers so one player can move with one pad and aim with the other, mirroring the arcade’s dual-stick setup, and two players can also team up together. The presentation keeps the game show framing and announcer catchphrases.
