Taboo the Sixth Sense – NES Game

Taboo: The Sixth Sense is an unusual release for the Nintendo Entertainment System: rather than a game with goals or scoring, it is a tarot reading program. You enter your name, birthdate and gender, then watch the deck shuffle before cards are dealt into a spread on screen. Each card is displayed with artwork and a short written interpretation covering the past, present and possible outcomes of your question. Occult-themed imagery and atmospheric music accompany the process, and the program will also generate a set of numbers based on your reading. There is no player character, no failure state and no ending to reach. Sessions are short, and you can run as many readings as you like.
