Alleyway is a block-breaking game for the Game Boy in the mould of Breakout. You control a paddle at the bottom of the screen, keeping a ball in play as it chips away at formations of bricks above. Missing the ball costs a life, so positioning and reading the ball’s angle off the paddle are the core skills. Brick layouts change as you advance, some drifting or shifting to make them harder to clear, and bonus stages arrange blocks into shapes drawn from Nintendo’s characters. The paddle is presented as a small ship, and the presentation is plain black-and-white with simple sound effects. Play is single-player and session-based, suited to short bursts on a handheld, with difficulty coming from tighter layouts and faster ball speed rather than new mechanics.
This listing is for an authentic original cartridge — no reproductions. Every product we sell is cleaned and tested before it ships, and our games are backed by a 1-year warranty. Choose Game Only or Complete (CIB) above.
