Asterix – Sega Master System Game

Asterix is a side-scrolling platformer for the Sega Master System based on the French comic series by Goscinny and Uderzo. You guide the Gaulish hero through stages set across the comic’s world, jumping between platforms, avoiding hazards and dealing with Roman soldiers and other opponents blocking the way. The game uses the comics’ visual style, with recognizable characters and village settings rendered in the Master System’s 8-bit sprite work. Progress is a matter of learning stage layouts, timing jumps and finding the route forward, with items to pick up along the route. Obelix also features in the game alongside Asterix. Play is single-player, and the presentation keeps to the lighthearted tone of the source material.
