Flintstones The Rescue of Dino and Hoppy – NES Game

The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy is a side-scrolling action platformer for the NES. You play as Fred Flintstone, working through stages set around Bedrock and other prehistoric locations to recover his pets. Fred attacks with a club, swinging it at enemies and at blocks and objects in the environment, and he can also jump on hazards and platforms in standard platforming fashion. Stages are laid out as linear routes with pits, moving platforms and patrolling creatures, closing out with tougher encounters. Items scattered through the levels restore health or add to your score. Between stages the game breaks up the action with a bonus segment in which Fred takes swings at pitched balls. Presentation uses the cartoon’s characters and Stone Age setting throughout, with password-free progression through the levels.
