Hatris – Gameboy Game

Hatris is a falling-block puzzle game for the Game Boy in which the pieces are hats. Two hats descend together at the top of the screen, and you slide them left or right and swap their order before dropping them into one of several columns at the bottom. Stacking enough hats of the same type on top of each other clears that pile and awards points, while mismatched hats build up and shorten the space you have to work with. If a column grows past the top of the playfield, the game ends. Different hat shapes stack at different heights, so managing how tall each column becomes matters as much as matching types. Speed increases as you progress, and the monochrome presentation keeps the focus on the shapes and the stacking. Play is single-screen and score-driven.
