Mega Man Xtreme – Gameboy Color Game

Mega Man Xtreme brings the X formula to Game Boy Color, casting you as X in compact side-scrolling stages built around dashing, wall jumping and a chargeable buster. Stages and bosses draw on the earlier SNES X games, rebuilt and remixed to fit the handheld’s smaller screen and simpler hardware. Defeating a Maverick grants its weapon, which you can bring to bear on other bosses that are vulnerable to it, so stage order matters. Armor upgrades, heart tanks and sub tanks are hidden in the levels for players who explore rather than rushing to the exit. The story frames the action as a fight inside a computer network, with Zero appearing in support. It condenses the console series’ pacing into shorter stages suited to handheld play.
