Mortal Kombat II – Sega 32X Game

Mortal Kombat II is a one-on-one fighting game using digitized sprites of live actors, brought to the Sega 32X add-on for the Genesis. You pick a fighter and work through a ladder of opponents, using special moves, juggling combos and the series’ block button in matches decided over two rounds. The roster mixes returning fighters with new characters, and each has their own projectile and mobility specials. Backgrounds include several stages tied to the game’s outworld setting, some with stage-specific finishers. Along with Fatalities, the game adds alternate finishing moves that transform a defeated opponent, plus hidden characters and secret encounters for players who meet certain conditions. Two players can compete head to head, and options let you adjust difficulty and match settings before starting a run.
