Motocross Championship – Sega 32X Game

Motocross Championship is a dirt bike racing game for the Sega 32X, the add-on that plugs into a Genesis or Mega Drive to boost its graphics and processing power. You ride motocross machines around enclosed circuits made up of jumps, berms and rutted straights, using the throttle and brake to control landings and keep momentum through corners. The 32X hardware drives a behind-the-rider view with scaling and rapid track scrolling to convey speed. Racing involves working through a field of opponents over multiple laps, with collisions and awkward landings costing time. As with much of the 32X library, the game is built to show off the add-on’s ability to handle three-dimensional-style racing beyond what the base Genesis offered. Straightforward menus lead into races quickly.
