Nightmare Before Christmas

The Pumpkin King is a side-scrolling action platformer set in the world of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, telling a story that takes place before the film. You control Jack Skellington as he moves through Halloween Town and its surroundings, jumping between platforms, fighting the creatures he encounters and gaining new abilities as you progress. Levels are built around exploration and combat, with items to find and boss encounters at key points, and Jack’s moves expand to let you reach areas that were previously closed off. The presentation uses pixel art versions of the film’s characters and locations, along with music in a similar style to the movie’s score. It is a single-player game designed for the Game Boy Advance’s handheld hardware.
