Nightshade – NES Game

Nightshade is an NES adventure game with a comic-book superhero framing. You play a costumed crime fighter working through a city overrun by criminal gangs after the death of its previous protector. The game mixes exploration and puzzle solving with fighting: you walk through streets, apartments and hideouts, examine and pick up objects, talk to people, and use a menu of commands to interact with your surroundings, while combat plays out in a simple side-on brawling view against thugs you meet along the way. Progress depends on collecting and using the right items in the right places. Presentation leans on comic panels, speech bubbles and a light, wisecracking tone, with death sequences that put you in escapable deathtraps rather than ending your run outright.
