Othello – NES Game

Othello brings the classic two-player board game to the NES. Play unfolds on an eight-by-eight grid where you place discs one at a time, flipping any of your opponent’s pieces that you trap between two of your own. The player controlling the most discs when no legal moves remain takes the game. You move a cursor around the board with the controller and confirm placements with a button press, and the console handles the flipping and scoring for you. You can play against a computer opponent or against another person on the same system. The presentation is minimal, with a plain board, simple sound effects and an on-screen score, keeping the focus on the strategy of controlling corners and edges.
