Phantom Fighter – NES Game

Phantom Fighter is an action game for the NES built around martial arts combat against hopping Chinese vampires. You arrive in a series of towns overrun by the undead and clear them house by house, entering buildings and fighting the creatures that wait inside. Combat uses punches, kicks and jumping attacks, and enemies must often be worn down before they can be finished off. Between fights you can talk to townspeople, train to learn new techniques, and spend money on items such as charms and healing goods that help you survive longer stretches of a town. Each area ends with a stronger boss encounter before you move on. The mix of side-scrolling brawling, light town exploration and simple character growth gives it a slower pace than most NES fighting-style games.
