Power Punch II – NES Game

Power Punch II is a boxing game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. You control a boxer viewed from behind, facing opponents drawn in an exaggerated cartoon style, and work through a series of fights against them one at a time. Play centers on reading each opponent’s pattern, dodging and blocking incoming punches, and countering with jabs, body blows and stronger hits when an opening appears. Each rival has its own look and habits, so learning when a particular fighter drops its guard is the main way to progress. Matches are fought over rounds, with knockdowns and knockouts deciding the outcome, and beating a boxer moves you on to the next challenger. Controls use the two buttons and the pad for high and low attacks and evasion. One player.
