Prince of Persia – Gameboy Color Game

Prince of Persia is a side-scrolling action platformer set in a palace of dungeons, towers and trap-filled corridors. You guide the prince through rooms strewn with spike pits, crushing blades, loose floor tiles and locked gates opened by pressure plates, while guards block the way and must be fought with a sword. Movement is animation-driven and deliberate: running jumps, careful ledge grabs and measured sword duels of advance, parry and thrust. Health is extended by drinking potions found along the route, and a time limit hangs over the whole quest. Levels are laid out as puzzles as much as obstacle courses, often requiring you to backtrack after triggering a switch. This Game Boy Color release adapts the game to a colour handheld screen, with the layouts condensed for the smaller display.
