Space Harrier – Sega Master System Game

Space Harrier for the Sega Master System is an 8-bit conversion of Sega’s arcade rail shooter. You play as a flying, gun-toting harrier who moves into the screen through checkerboard landscapes, shooting enemies and avoiding scenery while the ground scrolls toward you. Your control is side-to-side and up-and-down across the screen, so survival depends on memorising attack patterns and finding safe lanes as the pace increases. Stages are short and end with boss creatures, including dragons that snake across the play field. The Master System version scales the arcade original down to the console’s hardware, keeping the fast forward-rushing perspective and the sequence of surreal alien environments that the series is known for.
