Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back – NES Game

This NES adaptation of The Empire Strikes Back is a side-scrolling action game that follows the film’s story. You play as Luke Skywalker, moving through stages set on the ice fields and caves of Hoth, the swamps of Dagobah and the corridors of Cloud City, fighting Imperial troops and creatures along the way. Combat begins with a blaster and later includes lightsaber attacks, and Luke gains Force abilities as the game progresses that can be used in combat and to reach otherwise inaccessible areas. Some sections change perspective for vehicle segments, including flying against Imperial walkers. Levels are laid out for exploration as well as forward progress, with hidden paths and items to find. Enemies respawn and health is limited, so careful movement matters as much as shooting.
