Swamp Thing – Gameboy Game

Swamp Thing brings the DC Comics plant elemental to Nintendo’s handheld as a side-scrolling action game. You control Swamp Thing himself, moving through murky, overgrown environments and dealing with the creatures and hazards that stand in your way, using melee attacks and the character’s plant-based abilities to clear a path. Progress is stage-based, with each area asking you to fight through enemies and navigate obstacles to reach the end. As with most Game Boy action titles, the presentation is monochrome, the controls are kept simple, and the difficulty comes from managing your health across long stretches without relief. It is a straightforward pick-up-and-play superhero game suited to short sessions on the original hardware.
