Swords and Serpents – NES Game

Swords and Serpents is a first-person dungeon crawler for the Nintendo Entertainment System. You assemble a party of four adventurers from classes such as fighter, magician, thief and cleric, then descend into a maze-like dungeon viewed from inside the corridors. Movement is grid-based, and combat plays out through menu commands where each party member attacks, casts spells or uses items against the monsters blocking the way. Mapping matters, since the labyrinth twists through many levels and hides treasure, keys and traps. Party members gain experience and better equipment as you push deeper toward the serpent at the heart of the dungeon. The game supports more than one player at once with the appropriate multitap accessory, letting friends each take control of a character in the same party.
