Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project is a side-scrolling beat ’em up for the NES. Shredder lifts Manhattan into the sky, and the turtles set out across the city and beyond to bring it back down. You choose Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael or Michelangelo, whose weapons differ in reach and speed, and clear waves of Foot Soldiers with attacks, jump kicks, throws and a special move that costs a little health. Two players can play through together on the same screen. Stages run through locations including a beach, city streets, an airship and Shredder’s base, each ending in a boss fight against characters from the cartoon. The game also includes a versus mode for head-to-head matches.
