The Lion King – SNES Game

The Lion King on the Super Nintendo is a side-scrolling platformer adapting Disney’s animated film. You begin as young Simba, using a roar to stun or reposition animals and a pounce attack against small enemies, and solving light environmental puzzles such as using animals as platforms. Later stages cast you as the adult Simba with stronger physical attacks including claw swipes and throws. Levels follow the film’s story through the Pride Lands, the elephant graveyard, the wildebeest stampede and the jungle, and the game features large multi-layered sprites and detailed backgrounds typical of Disney’s 16-bit licensed platformers. Music is arranged from the film’s soundtrack. Progress relies on precise jumping, and the game is known for demanding platforming sections rather than combat-heavy play.
