Wave Race brings personal watercraft racing to the Game Boy. You steer a jet ski through marked courses laid out on open water, weaving through buoy gates and taking corners tightly to keep your speed up while rival riders push for position. Handling is a central part of play: throttle control and the angle of your approach matter as much as raw acceleration, and hitting waves or wake can throw off your line. The monochrome presentation keeps the track and the competing racers clearly readable, and courses are built around loops of turns and gates rather than a single straight run. Race modes let you take on the circuit or replay individual courses to improve your times. A compact handheld take on aquatic racing for players who want something other than road-based competition.
