Battletoads – NES Game

Battletoads on NES is a side-scrolling action game starring a trio of anthropomorphic toads, playable by one or two players. Combat relies on exaggerated cartoon attacks: your limbs swell into hammers, boots and horns as you connect with enemies, and finishing blows get their own animation. What sets the game apart is how often it changes form. Alongside standard brawling stages, you descend shafts, climb, swim, ride hovering speeders through obstacle-filled tunnels and navigate other set pieces with their own control quirks. Enemies range from small grunts to bosses that require pattern recognition. The difficulty is high and much of the game depends on memorising hazard placement and reacting quickly, particularly in the fast-scrolling vehicle sections.
