Rygar – NES Game

Rygar on the NES is an action-adventure game in which you play a warrior fighting through a monster-filled land armed with the diskarmor, a bladed weapon on a chain that you swing at enemies in front of you. Unlike the arcade original, the console version mixes side-scrolling stages with overhead areas, and the world is connected so you can travel back through regions you have already visited. Defeating enemies raises your attack and defensive stats, and items found along the way grant abilities such as grappling and crossing terrain that previously blocked you, opening up new routes. Progress involves working out where to go next as much as surviving the fights, and boss encounters guard key areas. Passwords or restarts handle continuing after death.
