Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Back from the Sewers is a side-scrolling action game for the Game Boy. You control one turtle at a time and can switch between the four between and during stages, with each brother handling differently thanks to their own weapon. Levels scroll horizontally through city and sewer environments filled with Foot Soldiers and hazards, and each closes with a boss fight against a familiar villain. If a turtle is defeated he is captured, but there are opportunities to bring him back into your lineup rather than losing him permanently. The black-and-white presentation keeps the cartoon’s characters recognizable, and gameplay stays focused on melee combat, jumping and timing attacks against oncoming enemies.
