ActRaiser – SNES Game

ActRaiser for the Super Nintendo splits its play between two very different styles. In the action stages, you control a sword-wielding statue possessed by a god, fighting through side-scrolling levels filled with enemies and ending in boss encounters, using melee attacks, jumps and magic. Between those levels, the game switches to an overhead simulation view where you guide the growth of a human civilisation from the sky, directing settlers to build houses, clearing land, and using divine powers such as lightning and wind to remove monster lairs and obstacles. As towns expand, your population and power increase, unlocking further action stages across the world map. The two halves feed into each other, with progress in the simulation strengthening you for combat.
