Carmageddon – Gameboy Color Game

Carmageddon on Game Boy Color is a handheld take on the vehicular combat driving series. Rather than simply racing to the finish, you can complete an event in several ways: finishing the required laps, wrecking the rival cars, or eliminating the pedestrians wandering the environment. Time is the constant pressure, and you extend the clock by scoring hits, causing damage and picking up bonuses scattered around the maps. Cars take visible punishment as you ram opponents and crash into scenery, and repairs cost credits earned from your performance. Environments are open enough to leave the intended route and explore for shortcuts and pickups. Progression comes from earning credits between events to repair and upgrade your vehicle, with new opponents and cars unlocking as you advance. The presentation is scaled down to suit the handheld hardware.
