Cobra Triangle – NES Game

Cobra Triangle puts you at the wheel of an armed power boat, viewed from an overhead angle as it speeds across lakes and rivers. Each stage sets a different objective rather than just a finish line: some are straight races against rival boats, while others ask you to defuse floating mines, rescue swimmers before they are dragged under, or face off against a large aquatic creature. Steering has weight to it, and currents, waterfalls and jumps push the boat around while enemy craft try to ram you off course. Power-ups scattered through the water upgrade your speed and weaponry, and holding onto those upgrades between stages makes later missions more manageable. Controls are simple, with acceleration, steering and a fire button, but the shifting objectives keep the structure varied across the game.
