Cruis’n Exotica – Gameboy Color Game

Cruis’n Exotica on Game Boy Color adapts the arcade racing series to Nintendo’s handheld. You drive against a field of rivals on courses set in exotic and unusual locations, with the series’ focus on straightforward arcade speed rather than realistic handling. The Game Boy Color hardware means a scaled-back presentation compared with the console versions, using sprite-based road scaling to convey the sense of forward motion. Play centres on selecting a car, choosing a track, and placing well enough to keep progressing, with additional vehicles and courses opening up as you succeed. Controls are simple, with acceleration, braking, and steering mapped to the handheld’s small button layout. The cartridge plays on Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance systems.
